Our November meeting was hosted by Arbuthnot Latham & Co at their Moorgate offices.
Arbuthnot Latham & Co is a private bank (a merchant bank), offering Banking, Investment Management and Wealth Planning services to both high net worth private individuals, and commercial clients.

David McMeekin - Chairman, Company Guides Limited, London Fund Managers and London Technology Fund.
The well recognised "equity gap", where it is difficult to attract funding, still applies to start-ups and many SMEs seeking growth capital below 2m. The gap persists for sound reasons - investors prefer the low risk of an established busines and the economies of scale of large investments. Government has launched a series of initiatives to address ths gap. David also talked about the recently launched London Technology Fund.

Martin Tate - Accelerated Management ConsortiumThis group seeks not funds, but a critique of their proposition, gap analysis, comment on their diagnostic, background on market opportunities and (if credible to some audience members) introductions to potential referrers.

David Hunt - Captimax Sports Media Ltd
A business creating and selling motor racing media exposure through the use of patented camera-tracking technology ("Navicam"). The system allows close-ups of racing vehicles to be broadcast on TV, thereby enhancing exposure for car sponsors.

Kenneth Campbell - Big Green BookBGB Management Ltd runs Big Green Book.
The Big Green Book Solutions Directory and The Big Green Book Enviromation Library are tools to help businesses access environmental information, products, materials and services. Big Green Book provides access support to allow companies to find what they want when they need it, and allows solution providers to promote their services to a wider audience. Kenneth Campbell and Stephen Lings are seeking assistance from 3Cs to allow them to expand their business to meet the demand for their innovative services.

Phil Derry - Chairman, TrackaPhone LtdTrackaPhone offers a commercial mobile phone tracking service to the lone worker market, enabling the client to view the location of a lone worker's mobile phone using multi-level mapping via an Internet connection. Employers are increasingly using tracking devices in order to comply with the UK Health and Safety Legislation that govern the safety of lone workers.
