Privacy Policy


This notice sets out how we use (and protect) your personal information for the purposes of marketing - including data which we gather from the use of our website and attendance at meetings organised by us or on our behalf.

We are the Data Controller for personal information relating to people who have agreed to receive marketing information from us or attended meetings organised by us or on our behalf

We do not trade personal information for commercial purposes. We will only disclose personal information for marketing purposes if required or necessary to arrange attendance at an event.


Website visitors
No user registration or identifiable information is required in order to be able to access the contents of the site.

We use a single cookie (files which are sent by a web server to your computer or other access device) which we can access when you visit our site in the future. This cookie remembers whether you are viewing pages in Standard mode or the High Contrast mode for visually impaired users. We use no analytics or advertising cookies.

When you arrive at our site your privacy is respected. We collect data from logs in order to improve the usefulness of our web site for our visitors. This information consists of Internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, referring/exit pages, computer operating system, keywords entered at search engines that brought users to our site, and frequency of pages viewed on the site. This information is used to gather broad demographic information, track trends, better manage the site, and make decisions on improving and expanding the site. Information is analysed in aggregate. IP addresses are not linked to personally identifiable information. We do not collect information about your precise location, only generic location from your IP address. If you use our website from a mobile device, that device will send us data about your location based on your device settings.

This Web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by this Web site.


Email subscribers
When you subscribe to marketing emails from us, we will need your:
  Name
  Email address
  City - this is optional and only used to determine potential locations for our meetings.

We will collect this information when you subscribe to our mailing lists. By subscribing to our mailing lists you will be automatically subscribed to receive email updates. You can withdraw your consent at any time, by clicking 'unsubscribe' or 'manage preferences' at the bottom of any of our emails that you receive from us.

If you unsubscribe from our emails or withdraw your consent for us to contact you, we will still retain your information for a period of two years as a cross check to ensure that you no longer receive emails from us.

We use Mailchimp to manage our email marketing. Mailchimp stores personal information both within the EU and outside the EU. Their privacy policies for data stored outside of the EU are fully compliant with regulations pertaining to EU users. Mailchimp does not share information with third parties.

Meeting attendees
When you register to attend one of our meetings, we will need your:
  name
  email address
  company name (optional)

We will collect this information when you register to attend a meeting. Our use and storage of personal information is based on consent. We use personal information solely for the purposes of administering the meeting. We may send you a confirmation email and further details about the meeting. We will only share personal information with other organisations where it is necessary to administer the meeting - typically the hosts of the meeting that require attendee names and company names if provided, for their building visitor security purposes. We will not share email addresses with these organisations. We archive meeting attendance information 12 months after the meeting has taken place.

If you are a speaker at one of our meetings we will promote your participation via our website and on platforms such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Startup Digest and by marketing emails. External platforms may continue to store and use personal information after the event has ended.


3Cs Community Group on LinkedIn
The 3Cs Community Collaboration Forum is a separate members-only group hosted by LinkedIn (www.linkedin.com) that requires a user to log-in in order to be able to access the 3Cs LinkedIn Group, and a separate privacy policy applies to that site that can be found at:

Within the user settings on LinkedIn you can specify what information is emailed to you.


Your rights
If we process your personal data, you have a number of rights. You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you (and request that that data be provided in a portable format) and you may object to our processing of it (including by way of direct marketing) or ask us to rectify it, restrict the way in which we process it or erase it from our records.

Where we use or store personal information relating to you, you have the following rights:
- the right to be informed of how personal information relating to you is being used or stored (which is what this privacy notice is for)
- the right to access personal information relating to you which we use or hold
- the right to object to direct marketing by using the unsubscribe button
- the right to object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests
- the right to have your data rectified if its inaccurate
- the right to have your data restricted or blocked from processing.

Please be aware that these rights are not always absolute and there may be some situations in which you cannot exercise them or they are not relevant.
