Mercer & Hole
Guest Speakers
Cathy Corns - Mercer & Hole
John Finnemore - Nabarro

"How not to lose your EIS relief" marks out the common pitfalls of claiming EIS relief. Through the telling of their own war stories and experience, Cathy and John take us though the details of the relief, where to be careful and how not to lose your relief, in a very engaging, easy to understand manner.
EIS and SEIS relief make the UK one of the most attractive locations in the world to make early stage investment for Business Angels. If you want to attract an Angel Investor you need to understand how to get EIS relief and more importantly how to keep it, as it delivers a significant upside to the investor on exit as well as reducing their tax bill upon investment.
Cathy is a business tax partner at Mercer & Hole. She specialises in advising on transactions and structuring. John is a senior associate in the corporate team at Nabarro. He specialises in advising fast growth companies on investment transactions. He has been working on EIS transactions for over 8 years.

Business Pitches

Alexander Lushnikov - ChainyWe are truly inspired by the success stories of famous people in the creative world. For most of them it was a long and difficult journey to become successful and what made a difference was the right people they met.
Currently, creative people still use inefficient methods to look for each other: sticking posters on university walls, calling and messaging friends, networking and searching on the websites that are not designed for this purpose. But we are here to change this and revolutionise the way in which creative world works!
Our goal is to help talented people to succeed, and we believe that success requires the help of others. Chainy makes it easy for creative people from various industries to connect and get exposure to endless opportunities around the world. We want our members to focus on what they are doing best and let Chainy find other talented people for them to work with.
We are live at www.chainy.com so sign up for free and spread the word - no talent should be left unnoticed!

Intern Avenue
Dupsy Abiola - Intern AvenueIntern Avenue is the first professional hiring platform designed to connect the most talented students and graduates with employers instantly; and is positioned to fill the large gap between Facebook and LinkedIn.
Intern Avenue was founded by Dupsy Abiola, a former city lawyer and Oxford graduate, in consultation with industry experts across HR, Technology, and Education. The platform has been singled out as a highly needed innovation in the internship space. Already achieving early revenues from great referenceable clients and with an international patent pending, we have been featured by the FT, CNN, the BBC, Channel Four, and in a documentary film and won many awards. Intern Avenue was created with the single aim of being the easiest way for employers and junior hires to connect online. Up to 75% of junior talent are hired from internship programs and there are at least 500,000 placements in the UK annually. Existing sourcing options can take over 10 weeks; Intern Avenue reduces the time and expense of these process by up to 90%. We eliminate the time-consuming burden of repetitive job posting and application processes. If you know of a student or recent grad, get them to sign up quickly!

Alice Holden and Fleurette Mulcahy - Attollo LingerieAttollo Lingerie is a new DD+ brand designed by DD+ women, for DD+ women. The aim of Attollo Lingerie is to make the 81% of women who are unhappy with the bras available, happy. The products currently on the market, particularly for smaller band sizes are inadequate; unflattering, size inconsistent, and lacking variety. We recognize that there is a need and opportunity for improved shape and aesthetic appeal of bras available for DD+ cup sizes. Bras combining beauty and functionality are not available. At Attollo Lingerie, we believe a bra with functionality doesn't need to have comprised aesthetics. We will address this by changing structural elements of the bra.
It is Attollo Lingerie's aim to deliver lingerie that is beautiful, feminine, shapely and flattering for DD+ breasts. Our long term aim is to provide DD+ women with a brand that supplies them with beautiful underwear, swimwear and nightwear designs tailored to DD+ figures; the first lifestyle brand for DD+ women.
